Discover eight new fragrances to know this October

October is giving us plenty of reasons to make room on the fragrance shelf. Summer citruses step back, and the richer, more considered launches arrive. Guerlain revisits a century-old classic, Dior brings some of its most iconic scents back into focus, and Amouage takes intensity to another level. Elsewhere, familiar favourites get unexpected twists, and a few new names are making a case for your next signature scent. Whether you're after something for everyday wear, cooler evenings or an early gifting find, these are the new perfumes worth knowing about this month.
1. Guerlain L'Heure Bleue

Guerlain chose Dubai for the unveiling, taking over the Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal. Jacques Guerlain first created L'Heure Bleue in 1912 after an evening walk across the Pont-Neuf, trying to capture the moment the Paris sky turns deep blue. More than a century later, Delphine Jelk, Guerlain's Director of Fragrance Creation, has reimagined it for a new generation.
The new version opens with a cool ozonic accord, like the first breath of evening air. Iris and orange blossom bring softness at the heart, built around an exclusive iris tincture that took three years to develop. Vanilla and Ambroxan then settle into a warm, skin-close finish. It comes in a modern take on the original inverted-heart bottle, shaded from pale to midnight blue.
Price: AED 495 (Eau de Parfum, 50ml); also AED 355 (30ml) and AED 720 (100ml)
Shop: L'Heure Bleue
2. Amouage Decision 42 and Overture 41

Amouage isn't holding back on intensity this season. The Omani house has taken two of its best-loved scents, pushed them to 42 and 41 per cent concentration respectively, then aged them for six weeks before bottling. Decision 42, by Quentin Bisch, layers frankincense, myrrh and pink pepper over vanilla and labdanum.
Overture 41, by Annick Ménardo, leans into saffron, calvados and rose. Both are dense, slow-burning and made for evenings. One spray is plenty.
Price: AED 2,150 each (Extrait de Parfum, 100ml)
Shop: Decision 42 | Overture 41
3. Dior Diorama (Dioriginals)

Perfumes change over time as ingredients and regulations shift, and Francis Kurkdjian, Dior's Perfume Creation Director, has spent years putting that right. Dioriginals revisits 13 of the house's most celebrated fragrances, from Diorissimo and Diorella to Dune, bringing their original olfactory identities back into focus. All presented in the 1948 bottle that held Christian Dior's first creations.
Our pick? Diorama. Created by Edmond Roudnitska in 1949, it was only the second fragrance the house ever made: a chypre that plays bright florals against warm spices, with the polish of a couture gown. It is a piece of perfume history, and it smells nothing like anything else on the counter right now.
Price: AED 685 (Eau de Toilette, 100ml)

4. Bvlgari Allegra Baciami Ancora

"Baciami ancora" means "kiss me again" in Italian, and this is the more intense, Parfum-strength version of Bvlgari Allegra's Baciami. Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier has kept the same pairing of creamy gardenia and vanilla absolute, then turned both up: the gardenia is fuller, and the vanilla is darker and slightly fiery.
Cedarwood and black pepper keep it from becoming too sweet, while Peru balsam, cinnamon and a touch of ginger add warmth. The signature red bottle takes on a deeper, velvet-toned finish. Layer it with Bvlgari's Magnifying Musk for a softer, closer-to-skin version.
Price: AED 1,519 (Parfum, 100ml)
Shop: Baciami Ancora
5. YSL Beauty LIBRE Santal Couture

LIBRE finally has a woody side. This limited couture edition is the first floral woody scent in the LIBRE family, and it keeps the signature French lavender and orange blossom, then sinks them into warm sandalwood. The sharp edges of the original soften into something creamier and closer to the skin. And with gifting season approaching, the glossy brown couture bottle makes a convincing case for picking it up early.
Price: AED 620 (Eau de Parfum, 50ml)
Shop: LIBRE Santal Couture
6. Maison Margiela Scentsorium, Chapter 1: Blaze of Stillness

The one for anyone who finds most launches a little obvious. Margiela's Scentsorium is a set of six genderless parfums built the way the house builds clothes: ingredients are pulled apart, studied and put back together. Chapter 1, Blaze of Stillness, pairs orange blossom absolute with a fig accord and soft suede, and smells like a bright morning in a good leather jacket. It isn't cheap and it isn't loud, but it is a real conversation piece. Start with the 30ml if you're curious rather than committed.
Price: AED 1,650 (Eau de Parfum, 75ml); AED 895 (30ml)
Shop: Blaze of Stillness
7. BOSS Bottled Beyond Eau de Toilette Intense

Proof that a big-name men's line can still surprise. BOSS has taken last year's Bottled Beyond and turned it up, pairing orange blossom absolute with leather for an intense eau de toilette that feels polished rather than heavy.
It's a strong gifting contender for the man who knows exactly what he likes: familiar enough to feel like an easy choice, but different enough to earn a place in his regular rotation.
Price: AED 565 (Eau de Toilette Intense, 100ml)
Shop: Bottled Beyond EDT Intense
8. Bentley Become Odyssey

The newest chapter in Bentley's Become collection, after Become and Become Zenith, is all about the open road. Perfumers Pierre Gueros and Alexandra Carlin open it with bright bergamot and fresh ginger, then add black pepper and a tea accord at the heart.
The base of vetiver, creamy sandalwood and musk gives it staying power without weight, so it works as well on a warm October afternoon as it does at night. The sculptural bottle comes in soft, sand-toned gradients.
Price: AED 390.65 (Eau de Parfum, 100ml)
Shop: Become Odyssey
