There’s something magical about a well-curated dining experience—one that not only delights your taste buds but transports you to a different world. That’s exactly what Riviera by Jean Imbert promises, and it delivers in every course. located at The Lana – a Dorchester Collection hotel in Business Bay, this Mediterranean haven evokes the charm of the Côte d’Azur with its chic décor and a menu that speaks to the soul of true French gastronomy.

The Experience

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by warm smiles and an atmosphere that felt inviting yet sophisticated. The soft lighting, accented by shades of blue reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea, set the stage for what would be an unforgettable evening.

From the moment we arrived at Riviera, the experience was like stepping into a Mediterranean dream. The restaurant’s elegant design—a beautiful blend of warm hues, natural textures, and soft lighting—creates a welcoming yet luxurious atmosphere. The open-plan dining area feels airy and intimate, with the space cleverly balancing sophistication and relaxation.

But the true magic is revealed when you step out onto Riviera’s terrace. Overlooking the serene blue waters of the Marasi Bay Marina, the terrace offers stunning views of Dubai’s skyline & Burj Khalifa. As the sun sets, the reflection of the city’s skyline on the water makes for an enchanting sight. Dining al fresco here feels like a leisurely escape to the French Riviera, where time slows down and every moment is meant to be savored.

The Culinary Journey

Our evening began with a delightful selection of starters that felt as if they had been kissed by the French Riviera itself. The toasted focaccia with green beans and pistachio pesto was a perfect harmony of textures—crispy on the outside, with the delicate crunch of green beans and the richness of the pesto elevating each bite. A close second was the confit capsicums with burrata. Creamy and vibrant, the capsicums balanced the burrata beautifully, a dish that could easily make you feel like you’re dining on a sunny terrace in Provence.

For the main course, we indulged in the lamb chops with stuffed vegetables and charcutière sauce. The lamb was perfectly cooked—tender and flavorful, complemented by the charcutière sauce’s sharp tang. Each bite was a reminder of why this dish is a staple in French cuisine. Then came the showstopper—the beef tenderloin with a pepper crust, spinach, and pomme Pont-Neuf. The pepper crust added a delightful kick to the melt-in-your-mouth tenderloin, while the spinach provided a fresh contrast to the richness of the meat. But let’s talk about those pommes Pont-Neuf—golden, crispy, and decadent. It was indulgence done right.

Sweet Endings

No meal at Riviera would be complete without a sweet finale, and their desserts did not disappoint. The pistachio and red fruit verrine was a playful dance of flavors—nutty pistachio met the tartness of the red fruit, creating a balanced and refreshing palate cleanser. But if you’re after indulgence, the iconic chocolate soufflé tartlet is an absolute must-try. Rich, decadent, and utterly satisfying, it’s the kind of dessert you dream about long after the meal is over.

Post-Meal Indulgence

To wind down, we sipped on a perfectly crafted cappuccino and the Lana hot chocolate. The hot chocolate, in particular, was a revelation—velvety, smooth, and rich without being too sweet Sitting back on the terrace with our post-dinner drinks, we couldn’t help but feel the magic of the moment—a perfect blend of flavors, ambiance, and good company.
