  • Why Collectors are Turning to Timeless Creations

The Vintage Craze: Why Timeless Designs Are Back in Demand Why Collectors are Turning to Timeless Creations The Vintage Craze: Why Timeless Designs Are Back in Demand by Khadija Husain 30 September 2024 If you’ve ever thought of luxury jewelry as simply a beautiful accessory, it’s time to think again. High jewelry is making waves not just as a symbol of elegance, but as an investment with real value. In recent years, collectors and savvy buyers are turning to these exquisite creations as a smart way to diversify their portfolios. But what’s behind this growing trend? Let’s dive into the world of high jewelry and find out why pieces from brands like Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Bulgari are more than just fashion statements—they’re timeless treasures. Luxury jewelry has always been synonymous with craftsmanship and exclusivity, but today it’s also becoming a way to secure long-term value. Unlike fashion pieces that may lose appeal after a season, high jewelry designs often appreciate over time. The allure lies in their rarity, the quality of materials, and the expertise that goes into crafting each piece. Collectors are starting to realize that owning an iconic design can be just as rewarding as any other high-end investment, if not more so. Take, for instance, Cartier’s Panthère collection. First introduced in the 1940s, the panther motif has become one of the most recognizable and beloved symbols in luxury jewelry. Pieces from this collection, especially the bracelets and rings, can easily fetch upwards of AED 150,000 depending on the materials and gemstones used. What’s remarkable is how the value of these pieces continues to rise, particularly with limited-edition or vintage models that have become rare finds in the secondary market. Similarly, Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra collection has achieved legendary status. Originally launched in 1968, this clover-shaped motif has been reimagined over the decades, yet remains a symbol of luck and timeless beauty. The classic mother-of-pearl Alhambra necklace can be yours for around AED 45,000, while pieces featuring diamonds or rare stones can easily cross AED 200,000. These jewels aren’t just pretty to wear—they hold their value and often become modern heirlooms passed down through generations. Then there’s Bulgari, known for its bold, colorful designs that perfectly blend Italian craftsmanship with a contemporary edge. The Serpenti collection, with its serpent-inspired motifs, is a favorite among collectors. A diamond-studded Serpenti bracelet can cost around AED 300,000, while more intricate designs with emeralds or rubies push well over AED 500,000. The scarcity of these creations, particularly in limited-edition releases, has turned Bulgari pieces into coveted investments. Just imagine: wearing an extraordinary piece of jewelry while knowing its value is steadily increasing over time—that’s the ultimate win-win. What sets these jewelry pieces apart is not just the design, but also the materials used. High-quality diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and rubies are known to increase in value, especially when paired with expert craftsmanship from prestigious maisons. In a world where trends come and go, these iconic designs remain constant. Collectors appreciate that while the value of a luxury car or a designer handbag may fluctuate, the right piece of jewelry, with the right provenance, can only go up. And let’s not forget about auctions. Over the past decade, luxury jewelry has seen a boom in auction houses around the world, with some pieces selling for record-breaking prices. Rare Cartier, Bulgari, or Van Cleef & Arpels pieces have sold for millions at Sotheby’s and Christie’s, further cementing the idea that jewelry is no longer just an accessory—it’s a high-value asset. So, what’s fueling this trend? One factor is the increasing awareness that jewelry, unlike other luxury goods, offers a combination of beauty, craftsmanship, and tangible value. Additionally, today’s buyers are looking for unique investments, and luxury jewelry provides exactly that. It’s personal, it’s wearable, and, most importantly, it appreciates with time. Whether you’re a collector or someone just starting to explore the world of high jewelry, one thing is clear—these timeless creations offer far more than just aesthetic pleasure. They’re financial assets that can bring both joy and long-term value. From Cartier’s elegant panthers to Van Cleef’s lucky clovers, investing in luxury jewelry is not just about owning something beautiful; it’s about securing a piece of history and, ultimately, a smart future. So, the next time you’re shopping for a statement piece, remember: you might just be making a priceless investment too.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Repossi’s iconic Serti Sur Vide Collection, this exquisite piece explores the qualities of pearls, deftly balancing tradition and innovation. It pays homage to the celebrated legacy of Repossi's floating diamond concept, presenting a fresh interpretation that captures the essence of modern luxury. For the first time since the 1990s, Gaia Repossi, inspired by her legendary father, Alberto Repossi, embarks on a journey to rethink the pearl's design. This unique variation offers a contemporary perspective on its timeless allure, merging classic elements with modern design sensibilities. The pearl, long revered for its grace, is elevated within the Serti Sur Vide setting, reimagining a beloved classic into a breathtaking statement of contemporary artistry. The Limited Edition No.5 ring evokes an enchanting nostalgia, paying tribute to the jewellery symbols of the past, particularly those from the 1970s. During this era, Repossi first embraced pearls in large, extraordinary arrangements, creating pieces that resonated with individuality and prestige. At the heart of this stunning design lies a black gold bead, meticulously paved with nearly 200 white diamonds, serving as a modern reinterpretation of the traditional pearl. The juxtaposition of contrasting tones, featuring both dark and light gray Tahitian pearls, adds depth and complexity, twisting conventional codes into a bold, graphic composition. Each element achieves perfect equilibrium, transforming the ring into a contemporary masterpiece. Crafted from white gold, the Limited Edition No.5 features a dark gray Tahitian pearl gracefully juxtaposed with a larger light gray Tahitian pearl, both appearing to float elegantly between the fingers. This harmonious arrangement, accentuated by the innovative black gold bead, encapsulates Repossi's commitment to creating jewelry that speaks to the modern connoisseur while honoring its rich heritage. Exclusively available at Dover Street Market Paris and Repossi boutiques from September 23rd, 2024, the Limited Edition No.5 "Pearl Variation" invites admirers to experience a captivating blend of tradition and innovation.

  • The Go-To Destination for Brazilian Shapewear That Fits, Flatters, and Moves With You

The Go-To Destination for Brazilian Shapewear That Fits, Flatters, and Moves With You by Khadija Husain 26 September 2025 In the intense heat of a Dubai afternoon, fashion can seem like a delicate balancing act. Women strive to layer elegance over modesty, aiming for looks that are both effortless and flattering. For years, one essential piece was missing from this equation: shapewear that not only concealed but enhanced; that didn’t restrict, but empowered. Introducing METRO BRAZIL , the GCC’s leading e-commerce platform for authentic Brazilian shapewear. Established in 2017 by Alaa Kara Ali, the platform introduces Brazil’s expertise in shapewear design to a market with distinct fashion needs. “Shapewear shouldn’t just support,” Alaa states, “it should empower women through comfort, style, and performance.” Today, METRO BRAZIL is more than an online store; it’s a thoughtfully curated gateway to garments that transform how women dress, move, and feel. Alaa’s journey is rooted in over 20 years of cross-continental experience spanning Brazil and the Middle East. From e-commerce to investment, he’s navigated industries that demand an understanding of consumer behaviour and trends. This perspective allowed him to identify a clear gap in the GCC market. “While shapewear had global recognition, women in the region didn’t have access to high-quality, fashion-forward Brazilian designs,” he explains. “I wanted to change that.” What sets Brazilian shapewear apart is its unique philosophy. Unlike traditional shapewear, which prioritizes concealment, Brazilian designs celebrate the silhouette, blending fashion with function. METRO BRAZIL takes this further by combining advanced textiles, such as Amni Soul Eco, Sensil, and Emana Technology, with innovative construction that sculpts, supports, and moves with the body. “It’s about visibility, confidence, and movement,” says Alaa. “Our pieces feel like a second skin, enhancing curves without sacrificing comfort.” From sculpting bodysuits to modern corsets and curve-defining essentials, METRO BRAZIL’s collections are curated to meet real-world needs while maintaining runway elegance. Every garment is breathable for high-heat climates, inclusive in sizing, and offered in skin-tone-aware palettes, ensuring women of all shapes and styles can find their perfect fit. Dubai’s unique intersection of modest fashion, luxury sensibilities, and dynamic social lifestyles means shapewear here must do more than sculpt; it must perform. METRO BRAZIL became the region’s first e-commerce platform dedicated to premium Brazilian shapewear, offering pieces that remain invisible under layers yet comfortable enough for daily wear, office meetings, and evening events. “The defining moment was realising how much women wanted shapewear that could be expressive as well as functional,” Alaa recalls. “When we saw demand for garments that perform in high-heat climates and cater to every body type, it became clear the market was ready.” Having personally tried several items from the Lift Collection, I can vouch for their balance. The Emana Instant Sculpting Built-In Bra Full Body, for instance, not only shapes curves with ease but also remains breathable and supportive, even under Dubai’s midday sun. Utilizing advanced polyamide microfiber technology and embedded bioactive crystals, it stimulates microcirculation and reduces the appearance of cellulite, showcasing the kind of innovation METRO BRAZIL promotes. Other popular items, such as the Lift High Waist Adjustable Straps Panty, Lift Waist Slimming Shaping Bermuda, and Make Up Skin Natural Shaping Bra, effortlessly combine practicality with elegance. Whether attending a high-profile event or managing daily routines, these pieces enhance the silhouette without feeling restrictive. METRO BRAZIL’s collections are designed to be seen, not hidden. Seasonal drops explore rich colour stories from earthy neutrals to jewel tones, marrying runway inspiration with real-life versatility. Each selection is carefully assessed for fashion, comfort, and adaptability, ensuring that every piece meets the region's lifestyle’s high standards. Alaa elaborates, “We focus on fabrics and designs that are breathable, hypoallergenic, and biodegradable, offering long-term benefits for the skin. Every piece must be inclusive, adaptable, and elegant enough to satisfy luxury expectations.” For Alaa, shapewear is no longer just an undergarment; it’s an expression of lifestyle and confidence. “The future of shapewear in the UAE is about being both expressive and functional. It’s no longer a hidden layer, it’s part of everyday style,” he says. Inclusive sizing, skin-tone-aware palettes, and garments tested for high-heat climates are transforming shapewear into a lifestyle essential. From my perspective, this philosophy is what sets METRO BRAZIL apart. Wearing the pieces, I felt both supported and confident, a combination rarely achieved in shapewear. It’s this fusion of fashion, comfort, and empowerment that the platform consistently delivers to women in the region. As the shapewear market evolves, METRO BRAZIL’s approach reflects broader trends: breathable fabrics, adaptive fits, and inclusive designs that encourage women to embrace their silhouettes intentionally. Whether it’s for a day at the office, a night out, or simply feeling confident in one’s own skin, shapewear has moved from hidden layer to lifestyle essential, and METRO BRAZIL is leading the way in the GCC. • A$AP Rocky & PUMA Redefine the Inhale OG with Distressed Elegance

PUMA Inhale OG Gets a Fresh Look in New A$AP Rocky Collaboration A$AP Rocky & PUMA Redefine the Inhale OG with Distressed Elegance PUMA Inhale OG Gets a Fresh Look in New A$AP Rocky Collaboration by Rave Staff 18 September 2024 A$AP Rocky and PUMA are turning heads once again with the release of their latest collaboration: the Inhale OG ‘Distressed Pack.’ This fresh take on the classic running shoe, first introduced in 2000, breathes new life into the vintage silhouette with an expertly crafted worn-in aesthetic. Originally reissued by the duo last May as part of their Formula 1 partnership, the Inhale OG now returns in a new guise that maintains the aerodynamic shape beloved by sneaker enthusiasts. This version introduces a hyperrealistic patina that amplifies its vintage allure. The uppers are constructed from a seemingly undyed khaki twill material, designed to replicate a genuinely worn and torn look. One of the standout features of this release is the shift from the bold red arch bandage of earlier models to a more subdued beige upper, showcasing a spectrum of tones. The yellowed soles and black skid marks contribute to an authentically aged appearance, while an embroidered red “Flacko” logo on the tongue pays homage to Rocky’s alter ego. This latest iteration of the Inhale OG aligns seamlessly with Rocky’s recent AWGE Paris Fashion Week runway show, “American Sabotage.” The show highlighted his affinity for worn-in, disheveled aesthetics, making the distressed Inhale OG a perfect fit. It’s been a considerable wait since Rocky’s last Puma sneaker drop, but the A$AP Rocky x Puma Inhale ‘Distressed Pack’ has finally arrived. Departing from the pristine and polished look of his previous release, this collection offers a deep dive into a timeworn style that looks as if it’s been pulled straight from the archives. The Inhale OG, known for its breathable mesh construction, is reimagined here with ripped canvas and pre-worn suede, staying true to the distressed theme. The legendary Formstrip marque appears on the sidewalls in worn leather, while the midsoles are crafted with CMEVA foam, ensuring superior comfort. The collection is completed with exclusive “FLACKO” logos on the tongues and comes in limited edition shoeboxes. The A$AP Rocky x Puma Inhale ‘Distressed Pack’ is set to drop on September 26 at Puma stores and select retailers globally, priced at £100 each.

  • Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2025 Collection: A Play of Light and Dark

Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2025: Minimalist Elegance in Light and Dark Tones Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2025 Collection: A Play of Light and Dark Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2025: Minimalist Elegance in Light and Dark Tones by Rave Staff 26 February 2025 Lucie and Luke Meier have once again transformed the fashion landscape with their Women's and Men's Fall/Winter 2025 collection—a striking visual narrative of contrast, rebellion, and elegance. This season, they invite us into a world where darkness morphs into light, where textures clash yet harmonize, and where nostalgia meets the avant-garde. The stage is set against a backdrop of pitch black, a blank canvas that sharpens the focus on the collection’s intricate details. The atmosphere is dreamlike, with the sounds curated by Benji B rising like a slow, deliberate vortex, pulling the audience into the heart of the Meiers' vision. The collection unfolds in black, white, and red, with pointy shoes and boots, leather jackets, and steel studs punctuating the garments—a nod to the rebellious yet refined spirit of the designs. At the heart of the collection is a tension between opposites, a signature of the Meiers' aesthetic. Blackness becomes light, coldness becomes warmth, and toughness becomes tenderness. Florals, ribbons, feathers, and leaves emerge subtly from the shadows, as seen in the lean, black dress and trench, or the immaculate cream gown adorned with textural ribbons. These details elevate everyday garments into sartorial masterpieces, where raw cuts lend a raw, urban edge to otherwise delicate pieces. The Meiers have a knack for combining the rebellious spirit of the New Wave with an appreciation for tradition, creating a collection that is both tough and decorative. Lush textures dominate the collection, from long sequin stripes in silver and black that adorn dresses made of velvet, taffeta, and silk, to plush shearling coats in striking black and blue. Handcrafted alpaca and cashmere knitwear, either shrunken or oversized, adds a cozy yet luxurious touch to the line. Accessories take center stage with sculptural, bold bags in all shapes and sizes—clutches, shoppers, and shoulder bags—each making its own powerful statement. The tailoring for men’s jackets and coats plays with severity but with a twist, introducing unexpected elements such as studded belts, lace inserts, and bold zippers. The color palette for the collection is predominantly black, white, and grey, with bursts of silver, burgundy, pure red, lake blue, and lilac. These colors, combined with the varied textures, turn darkness inside out, creating a seamless transition from matte to glossy, from solid to transparent. In this collection, Lucie and Luke Meier have crafted an experience that transcends the ordinary, taking us on a journey through light and darkness, rebellion and refinement, tradition and modernity. Each garment, accessory, and detail speaks to their vision of a world where fashion is not just about aesthetics, but about the emotion and desire to be both glamorous and real.

This new boutique showcases a unique Parisian-style design which recalls the historical Boucheron Hôtel Particulier on Place Vendôme in Paris. Its interior integrates all the codes of the Boucheron design concept: displaying the most incredible Boucheron creations in a peaceful contemporary atmosphere. The boutique also reinterprets the vocabulary of Place Vendôme’s typical architecture: it uses the Parisian codes such as the molded frames in dark marble, the black metal frames, and the symmetry specific to French classicism. Clients are also offered a more intimate one-on-one experience thanks to a VIP room, as well as a bridal space. Iconic jewelry creations such as Quatre, Serpent Bohème, Animaux de Collection and Vendôme Liseré, embodying the savoir-faire of the Maison’s craftsmen, will be showcased in the boutique.
